You want to know the secret passage way to the fountain of youth?
Well… let me tell you it’s not in your medicine cabinet, in your doctor’s office or on your surgeon’s table.
It’s so much closer (and way less expensive) than that!
Here are my top 5 ways to lasting radiant beauty without creams or botox.
1. Constantly Renew with Antioxidants
You want to know the single most powerful way to stay looking young forever? It’s so obvious yet so overlooked it’s almost unbelievable. Yes, the answer is eating and drinking the most nutrient rich foods on the planet. You’ve heard me say it before. Antioxidants found in creams and lotions don’t even come close to the antioxidants found in whole, raw plant, nutrient and water rich, food. Let me tell you, they just don’t. Food is indeed very powerful. My tips for eating the most beauty packed foods? Simple. Don’t over cook, over salt, over sugar, or over process it. Eat as close to nature as you can get. Remember, the more raw, whole and fresh a food is the more nutrients and anti-aging magic juice it’s packed with. Once the majority of your diet is comprised of raw whole plant foods you will literally start to turn back the clock on your skin, your hair, your nails and your insides. Trust me, one day you’ll thank me for it!
2. Exercise
Let me count the ways exercise helps you stay radiant. Want to join me? Okay let’s go.
Exercise helps circulate more nutrients and oxygen to your skin making you look more radiant. It kick-starts the collagen production process of rebuilding your skin which slows down as you get older. It prevents free radical damage. It helps you sleep better which means more time for rejuvenation. It naturally boosts your HGH (Human Growth Hormone). It helps to maintain your muscle mass and gets rid of sagging body fat. It aids in maintaining the length of your telomeres which get shorter as you age (i.e. reduces damage to your DNA), and it helps to reduce stress which is a leading cause of premature aging. Need we say more? Let’s get on it.
3. Exfoliate your Skin
Exfoliating and cleansing your face before bed, body scrubs with dry brushes before showers, and full body scrubs and massages at the spa are a treat for your skin. The truth is, if you’re looking to give yourself a natural glow, exfoliating from head to toe is one of the easiest ways to achieve it. Why? One word. Circulation…. Exfoliation stimulates the skin’s native circulation, getting rid of the unwanted dead skin cells while creating space for new vibrant skin to grow underneath. Skin cell turnover slows as we get older. To speed it up, reach for a scrub. The exfoliating granules help to slough off dead skin, and the rubbing action itself boosts circulation and helps drain your lymph nodes reducing puffiness. But don’t over exfoliate, twice a week is usually enough to achieve that silky glow you crave without stripping your skin of it’s natural moisture balance.
4. Sleep Long and Deep
Sleeping long and deep regulates your body in so many ways. First of all , it’s when you sleep that your body renews and regenerates. When you sleep your body releases stress and tension. When you sleep your skin, organs, hair, nails, grow and reinvigorate. When you sleep the sufficient number of hours, 8-10 hours to be exact, each night your body also produces more growth hormone to keep your skin supple and elastic preventing your skin from wrinkling prematurely. When you don’t get enough sleep you are more stressed, and that stress releases a hormone called cortisol that damages and ages your skin. I know, 8-10 hours seems like a lot. But if you really want to stay young for the long term, getting in those minimum of 8 hours will go a long way to keeping you looking young and feeling youthfully energetic.
5. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Water, water, water. Well actually it’s not just water! While water is definitely important you also have to eat your hydration. By this I mean eat fruits and vegetables that have a high water content, like apples, pears, celery and cucumbers. The “water” in these food is the anti-aging magic juice I was alluding to earlier. The live phytochemicals, antioxidants, and nutrients that keep your body from aging, it’s tightly packed in these little molecules of hydration. When you eat and drink them (think juices, Smoothies, and salads people!) your body literally quickly and effortlessly absorbs these little particles and send them straight your your organs, skin, hair and nails for growth and regeneration. Don’t believe me? Try it and see. Spend a couple days eating only an unlimited amount of raw fruits and veggies, a handful of raw nuts and seeds and drink plenty of water. The next morning there will be no question. You will literally see the difference in the mirror when you wake. Your skin will be less puffy, your eyes will be whiter, your face will have a subtle glow and your smile will be brighter (can we say “happy” people?). When you do this over the course of several years, your body simply thanks you by showing you how youthful and radiant you stay as you age.
So, finding the fountain of youth isn’t a fantasy adventure after all. It turns out it just a pretty simple formula to follow. Eat plenty of raw, live, whole foods, exercise, exfoliate and get enough rest.
Until next time,
With all my love and gratitude,
Milen
