I came across this article and read and re-read it several times. Feeling compelled to share it with all of you, I’ve copied it in it’s entirety below… I’ve been practicing yoga for over a decade now and have learned over time that yoga is something that can both heal and harm, depending on how you approach it. The rewards of yoga are immense if you practice correctly. It will build a tremendous amount of strength in your body, it will increase your flexibility and work to prevent injury over the course of your lifetime. But, in order to practice safely we must learn to drop our ego, clear our mind, breathe, and feel though the asana. Being fully engaged in the present moment, the asana will happen naturally and safely, but if we let our ego take over, we will injure ourself.
