Eating for Lasting Energy and True Beauty

Now that we have talked about what the perfect foods are to eat, for weight loss and beauty, let’s talk a little about why these are the perfect foods to eat to create true energy and lasting beauty.

To start with, your body does its part naturally by working towards maintaining the perfect balance internally. Your cells and systems continuously cleanse themselves throughout the day and especially as you sleep at night. But how does your body work to maintain this perfect balance? By digesting the things you eat, and turning that into energy.

So what does this mean for health, greater energy and beauty? It means that digestion is the key component to maintenance and healing and the biggest secret to obtaining true beauty and radiating pure energy. It all comes down to what I call digestive energy – the key is in how efficiently your body digests the food that you eat, how quickly your body can convert that food into energy, and how little waste is left over for your bodies to have to get rid of (because the process of elimination also requires energy).

The more digestive energy you can free up, the more energy and beauty you will gain. Why is this so? Well let’s take a look at the natural order of how our bodies function and maintain themselves, and in what order we use our internal energy.

When we eat some food, that food gets digested and turns into energy. First and foremost our body is most concerned with survival.  That means the energy we now have bottled up inside is first going to be used to maintain our life-sustaining processes; respiration, organ regulation, nutrient transportation, internal synthesis, growth and elimination¹. Add a little cardio and weight training (or even just work, or taking care of two young children) to our day and most of the time this process will exhaust our internal energy reserves from eating the standard diet we do on a daily basis.

Now, what if I told you there was a way to significantly increase your energy reserves so you can use even more energy past your life-sustaining processes – to keep your face bright and beautiful, to keep your hair healthy and shiny, to keep your skin glowing, and your body youthful beyond your age. Well, there is, and it’s really very simple to obtain it. It all comes down to what you put (or do not put) in your mouth daily. Eat as many foods as you can that are straight from nature and don’t eat foods that your body is not designed to digest (processed grains, meat and dairy).

Our intestines and digestive tract are designed to reap the full benefits of amino acids, minerals and other nutrients from plant foods because humans resemble herbivores, in terms of both their anatomical structure and their internal organs². Foods straight from nature (mainly fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts) require very little energy for digestion and leaves you with an abundance of stored up energy to use later. They digest fully and rapidly, fruits and vegetables within 30 minutes or less, and the fiber moves through your body quickly (sweeping up all that internal waste) before moving out of your system efficiently.

But, let’s backtrack for just a moment. Have you ever wondered why you get so sleepy after you afternoon meal? Well, it’s because your body is working so hard at digesting the food you just ate and turning it into energy you can use throughout your day. Some even say that the digestion of food can take up to 30% of your daily energy³. Compare a light but filling salad loaded with leafy greens, some winter squash, cucumbers and beets to eating a stake or even a toasted cheese sandwich. I bet you won’t feel sleepy after the salad. Why? Because its easily and efficiently digested leaving you with much more energy to get though your afternoon.

So now you know why eating the perfect food can lead to more energy, and more beauty. Try it and see for yourself. Once your body gets used to eating this way you will be amazed at how much more energy you have throughout your day. You will notice over the course of the next several weeks how you begin to both look and feel lighter and younger, how your skin will begin to glow, and how people will begin to complement everything you wear (it’s not the clothing silly, it’s me!), because a clean and efficient body is a beautiful body.

I highly recommend you read The Beauty Detox Solution: Eat Your Way to Radiant Skin, Renewed Energy and the Body You’ve Always Wanted as well as  Eating for Beauty. These books will give you a basis for the science behind eating for beauty and help you transition to a more balanced and energy creating, beautifying, diet.

I wish you all the best on your journey.

With love and gratitude,
Milen
