I’m really excited to share with you, The Perfect Food Cleanse. This cleanse consists of only foods straight from nature, in their most natural form, and which you can literally eat for the rest of your life because they contain every single nutrient (more about this later) you need to live your most vibrant life. And let me tell you, this is a much better alternate to the juice cleanse that has become popular as of late.
You’re about to find out how to cleanse the most simple and natural way. So, if you’re ready to jump into real and permanent weight loss, sustainable energy, clear glowing skin, and freedom from any weight loss fads… if you want a way of eating that will initially make you shed pounds fast, will keep you slim for your lifetime, and is so healthy you can really stick to eating this way for the long term, let’s get right to it!
6 things to gradually cut from your diet before you start:
1. Gluten
2. All Animal Products (Meat and Dairy)
3. Caffeine/Coffee
4. Sugar
5. Alcohol
6. Processed foods (even gluten free ones)
Take a couple weeks prior to the cleanse to gradually give up all of these foods. You can cut each out a day at a time, and take a few days for specific ones if any one is particularly hard.
Can you do it? Sure you can! Because I’m about to let you in an a little secret. After you cut these 6 things out of your diet for an extended period of time (If you’re not used to eating close to this way you may get some headaches or other mild withdrawal symptoms initially) you will feel so incredible you will never really want to go back to feeling the way you used to again. And to make the whole process easy on you, i’ll start you off with my 7 day alternate to the juice cleanse.
6 simple guidelines for the perfect cleanse:
1. Eat whole fruits and vegetables, in any way (cooked, raw, blended) you like.
2. Include up to 1 cup of lentils, beans, or gluten free whole grains with dinner (corn, buckwheat, amaranth, quinoa, oats, millet or brown rice).
3. Seeds, nuts and dried fruit are used for sprinkling on salads mainly, feel free to eat, but don’t overdo it because heavy amounts of these can be clogging to your system.
4. Use no more then 1 teaspoon of added oil and/or 1 teaspoon of added salt a day on the diet (reserved for homemade dressings and sautéing vegetables or soups)
5. Avocados are an excellent source of dietary fat, and will keep you satisfied, up to 1 per day.
6. Never stay hungry, eat as much as you need to stay satisfied, but don’t overeat. The more satisfied you are, the more effortless the cleanse will be.
Try it and see for yourself. If you are new to this way of eating you will initially lose the same amount of weight as you would on a juice cleanse, you will eliminate regularly if not more than you’re used to (important, so load up on those leafy greens at every meal) and you will lose most all your cravings for unhealthy foods by the end of the first week.
Easiest way I have found to incorporate the cleanse:
Green Smoothie for breakfast
Smoothie for lunch
Raw fruit and veggies for snacks throughout the day
Large salad and/or soup for dinner (include beans/whole gluten free grains in small quantities)
This is a diet I follow any time I want to shed a few pounds, and I know it works and works well. Other times, I eat mostly in this way, incorporating small amounts of gluten, sugar and dairy along the way (I love to eat out, host dinner parties, and dine with friends so I keep the rules a bit relaxed day to day). You can vary this cleanse a bit according to your lifestyle, but try and stick to the guidelines as much as possible.
A yummy and super simple smoothie recipe to get you going:
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup frozen mango
1 cup frozen banana (peel and chop ripe bananas and stick them in the freezer)
2 large handfuls of pre-washed fresh baby spinach
1/2 avocado
1/2 inch piece of ginger (optional)
sprinkling of herbs (cilantro, parsley) (optional)
squeeze of lemon or lime
1 to 2 cups water
Blend and enjoy. I love to use frozen fruit and pre-washed greens to make it super easy on myself. I can literally throw this smoothie together in the morning in 3 minutes all while packing lunch boxes and giving the kids breakfast. And really, could there be a healthier breakfast than this?!
Another favorite of mine is the Everyday Green Smoothie and its the one that got me into green smoothies in the first place. It’s a really great breakfast smoothie and full of beneficial fiber. Although it takes a bit more prep time, it is completely worth the effort.
So put away your 10 part juicer you hate to clean and blend up some goodness for that awesome internal cleanse your about to begin. Give it a go and please, please let me know how it goes. I promise by the end of the first week you will feel so incredible you will burst with happiness. Your refreshed body and mind will leave you wanting to eat this way for the rest of forever. Pretty soon you won’t even want your morning coffee but will insist on a green smoothie instead. Drink up, happy and healthy, my friends!
Sending you all my love!
